While not a huge fan of Kamen Rider, and not being able to give the newer "metrosexual" Riders a chance, I decided to start watching Black. KRB is much darker than the other shows I've watched, and it seems to focus more on plot and less on the monster of the week. I actually care about Kotaro's character and his quest to find his stepbrother who later becomes his nemesis known as Shadow Moon. I haven't gotten far enough in the series to see Nobuhiko become Shadow, and can't wait. The revenge thing has been done a million times already, but seems fresh in the show. If some evil organization killed my parents, and were dumb enough to let me escape after given a super soldier serum, you'd bet I'd do the same as Kotaro.
